Apposite Architecture began as a collection of passion projects brought to life by friends and family. The name apposite reflects our mission to design spaces that are well suited to the history, culture, and place that they are built.

Sam has more than 15 years of architectural experience, including residential new construction and remodeling, small commercial, adaptive reuse, historic preservation, higher education, and multifamily housing.

She is a licensed architect in the state of Oregon and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Associate. She graduated cum laude from the University of Oregon School of Architecture and Allied Arts with a degree in architecture and minor in business.

Why Work With Me?

When you hire Apposite Architecture, you work directly with the architect who designs your home. There are no layers of project managers or junior staff—just clear communication, thoughtful design, and a collaborative process focused on your goals. As a sole practitioner, I intentionally keep my practice small so I can give each project the attention it deserves.

My approach is straightforward and efficient. I spend my time understanding how you want to live, how your site should shape the design, and how to create a home that will serve you for decades. Rather than investing heavily in elaborate presentations or excessive renderings, I focus on developing a design that is well considered, beautiful, practical, and responsive to its surroundings. Every decision is made with purpose.

I believe the best homes are not defined by trends or unnecessary complexity. They are the result of careful listening, thoughtful problem solving, and a clear understanding of place. Whether your priorities are capturing views, connecting with the landscape, or creating spaces that support your daily life, my goal is to design a home that feels uniquely yours.

If you're looking for a personalized design experience, direct access to your architect, and a home shaped by careful attention rather than unnecessary overhead, I would welcome the opportunity to work with you.
